Tom Herman sent an email with a video clip…"Oh, you might find this amusing. I am in the movies. I was hired by the people who made BORAT, to give him a massage to be part of the film. I had no idea who he was, nor was I meant to. So I did it. Of course he was insane as always. I didn’t make the final cut of the movie, but when they did the DVD I was included in the deleted scenes.”I asked Tom if Borat really got an erection (as he appears to) and he replied “as far as I know Borat’s erection was genuine”. He-he.http://kontraband.com/show/show.asp?ID=5820In a web directory, Tom’s work is described as “Swedish, deep tissue, medical and sports massage, applied kinesiology and nutritional counseling”.When I first met him, he was a composition student of Maxwell Davies in London –masseur work is nowadays just another string to his bow. He’d arrived from Brandeis. That was 1969-70. We became friends and saw a bit of each other. Tom had beautiful blue eyes, just like a doll, and when he fixed those eyes on you it was quite a dangerous “melting” moment. Every time I met him, I came away looking the worse for wear……….oh dear…….. but he was with someone else, so there was no chance for me and I kept silent.Anyway, he has lived in New York for many years and we very seldom see each other. Last time was Christmas 1989 in the Hague. Tom has been busy meticulously recording some of his songs for a number of months. I’ll get a copy of that when the CD comes out.
